yay!

Finally, after a very long time wanting to, I got to dance last night (with A! special bonus!). I always claim that all I want to dance to is hip hop. But actually hip hop is just a quick fix, a sure thing, after countless encounters with incompetent techno DJs. It's rare, but when music is spun right genuine dancing excitement is created. Instead of, "Oh, I heard this on the radio," you're like "Oh my God this sounds so good I have to move!" Last nite was this Indian DJ party thingy at Club Six that was more technoey. Finally, God delivered some decent DJs and the constant mixing was complex enough for each of my body parts to have something diferent to do. It was also great that the place wasn't packed, so there was room to get crazy. I had so much dancing saved up that I just could not stop! It reminded me of days long ago going dancing by myself and forgetting the world around me. The afternoon/evening was nice overall, and included an ocean excursion, hanging with family (old and young), eating, seeing The Bicycle Thief in Washington Square Park and minestrone (and steamed milk - it was cold outside!) at Cafe Puccini.

Here is a little photo montage of parts of Saturday evening:
